Triple A Partners’ Joanne Murphy tops AsianInvestor online poll
An online poll conducted by AsianInvestor that asked “Who is Asia’s most influential woman (non-service provider) in the alternatives sector?” has found that Joanne Murphy (pictured) of Triple A Partners came out on top. Murphy, who joined Hong Kong-based Triple A Partners in 2008 as Marketing Director, reveals that whilst there are plenty of influential women working within the Asian alternatives sector, one area that is under-represented is single strategy hedge funds. “There are Ophelia Tong (HT Capital), Vanessa Gibson (Wharton) and Lesley-Anne Murray and Jessica McCarroll (Liquid Capital). But that’s about it, unless we look at the Greater China space,” commented Murphy, adding further that whilst the industry is likely to become more “institutionalized” over the years, there’ll always be room for mavericks to push the contrarian envelope.
