PVE Capital hires ING’s Garcia to manage brace of newcits
London-based hedgie PVE Capital has selected ex-ING trader Marc Garcia to head up its two UCITS funds, launched last month. Garcia joins the credit-focused asset manager from Amsterdam where he was head of the bank’s corporate trading desk. Both newcits currently have a combined AUM of EUR90 million. Garcia brings 27 years of credit trading experience to the role, having worked for several top-tier institutions including Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, JP Morgan and Credit Suisse. Speaking about the appointment, Christian Evans (pictured), one of PVE Capital’s founding partners, was quoted in the press as saying: “We welcome Marc to the company and view his hire as an important step in strengthening the investment management platform. Marc’s long experience in cash trading will help PVE to expand and diversify investment activity beyond its pure hedge fund business and allow the company to offer more traditional retail-oriented instruments.”
