BTIG, a broker dealer specialising in institutional trading and related brokerage services, has expanded its London-based team with the addition of four new sales and trading professionals.

The four are David Abraham, Andrew Rosen, Julie Beecher and Adam Bergenfield.

They join a team of more than 30 professionals led by Gary Hayes, chief executive of BTIG.

“We continue to invest in building out our team in London and are dedicated to providing our clients with access to talented and experienced sales and trading professionals,” says Hayes. “Our latest hires underscore our commitment to the European market and demonstrate the level of talent that we have been able to attract.”

With 16 years of buy-side and sell-side experience, Abraham joins BTIG as an event driven analyst from FBR Capital Markets, where he set up an event driven desk in 2009. Prior to FBR, Abraham was an event driven portfolio manager and partner at multi-strategy hedge fund Merebis Capital after being a partner and investment manager at Titanium Capital’s Global Event Driven Fund. Abraham began his career as an equity analyst at Goldman Sachs and NatWest Securities.

Rosen joins BTIG as an emerging markets sales trader. Prior to BTIG, Rosen spent nearly eight years building a sales trading operation at State Street Global Markets in London, working with institutions and hedge funds in London, New York and Boston. He started his career in 1983, joining Simon & Coates stockbrokers and working on the floor of the London Stock Exchange before joining Smith Brothers in 1986.

Beecher joins BTIG as an emerging markets sales trader. She has 20 years of buy-side and sell-side experience, having started her trading career in 1989 dealing for a major hedge fund. She then joined TT International. In 2001, Beecher joined Execution Noble as a founding partner focusing on pan-European equities trading before building Execution Noble’s European-based emerging markets effort.

Bergenfield joins BTIG as an equity-linked sales trader. Prior to joining BTIG, Bergenfield was on the buy-side in New York, where he was an analyst and trader for Penso Capital Markets’ Global Macro Fund. He also spent several years at Kellogg Specialist Group, a NYSE specialist firm, where he ran a proprietary trading strategy and assisted in developing equity market-making algorithms for the floor traders.
