At the beginning of November 2010, Markus Fuchs will take up his new position as senior counsel with the Swiss Funds Association.
He will support the executive board in the fields of alternative investments and asset management in particular.
Fuchs was formerly a managing director and head of product management at UBS.
His career spans positions with Credit Suisse Group, Swiss Life and latterly UBS.
“We are pleased at this appointment, which will strengthen our executive board. Markus Fuchs has a long-standing track record covering all facets of the funds and asset management business, from administration to actual management right through to distribution. He also knows the needs of the individual client segments, and will bolster the impact the SFA is able to make. We will thus be in an even better position to represent the interests of our members in an environment that is becoming ever more demanding,” says SFA chief executive Matthäus Den Otter.
Andreas Ventouras left the SFA in September 2010 after nearly four years as business counsel. He has taken up a new challenge in the fund business in the French-speaking region of Switzerland.
