Paris-headquartered CACEIS, the asset servicing arm of Credit Agricole with EUR2.3trillion in assets under custody and France’s leading fund administrator, has launched a new service to help clients draw up their own KID documentation. As part of UCITS IV, due to roll out in July 2011, the Key Information Document (KID) will replace the UCITS simplified prospectus. Fund managers will be required to clearly communicate the fund’s risk/reward profile, costs, performance and investment objectives in a succinct, user-friendly format to help investors make better informed decisions. Given that the document will be mandatory, CACEIS will look to assist management companies as they get to grips with the new regulations. The service itself is modular in design, ranging from raw and processed data provision through to a fully outsourced solution to give clients a high degree of flexibility when it comes to producing, publishing, and distributing the documents. It will be offered as part of CACEIS’s Cross-Border Fund Distribution Support service. A CACEIS representative told Hedgeweek that being able to offer clients the choice to either do it themselves, with CACEIS providing the data, or completely outsourcing it to them, was one of the modular solution’s key differentiators. The service, they added, was developed on the back of talking to existing clients and fully understanding their future needs.
