Carne Global Financial Services has appointed Roisin Cater as an independent director for the boards of client funds in the Cayman Islands.
Cater is a highly experienced Cayman Islands lawyer with an extensive track record in the funds business, including with law firm Mourant, where she was Managing Partner, and the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange (CSX), where she worked as a Senior Listing Executive. She was appointed to the board of the CSX in 2007, and is also a member of the listing committee, reviewing and approving listing requests. She originally trained with Linklaters London.

Cater will be working alongside Managing Director Peter Heaps in the Cayman Islands office of Carne, which looks after the fund governance requirements of investment management clients with Cayman Islands structures.

Cater began her career in the investment funds department of Linklaters in London and also worked as a Senior Associate with Ogier where she specialised in advising mutual funds and investment managers on a broad range of structures and transactions. She has been dealing with investment funds in the Cayman Islands for more than 15 years. She is a member of the Cayman Islands Directors’ Association and AIMA (Alternative Investment Management Association).
