Millennium Global hires State Street’s Monica Fan

Global currency overlay and currency alpha manager, Millennium Global, has appointed Monica Fan (pictured)as its new Head of Business Development. Fan will join the firm on 16 May 2011 and report to CEO Mark Astley. 

Previously global head of currency product engineering at State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), Monica led the strategic positioning of currency products globally and was heavily involved in the business development of SSgA’s funds. Prior to that she was a consultant at Oliver Wyman Financial Services and earlier was global head of currency research at RBC Capital Markets. She has worked in EMEA and Asia and has over a decade of experience in the investment industry.

Millennium Global’s CEO, Mark Astley, says, “I am delighted to welcome Monica. She is a great fit for Millennium, given her in-depth knowledge of the currency space, her broad network of investor contacts and her excellent record in business development and client relationship management.”  

Millennium Global was recently mandated to manage a USD500m specialist currency overlay program for CalSTRS (the California State Teachers’ Retirement System) and has over USD12bn AuM in currency products.
