AlphaMetrix Group, LLC, a provider of consolidated platform and administration services for hedge funds and investors, has appointed that Mark Faulkenberg as Director of Global Operations at hedge fund administrator AlphaMterix360.
In this role, Faulkenberg will oversee day to day operations of the company and lead all operational due diligence activities in support of the AlphaMetrix Platform. He reports to David Young, Chief Operations Officer, and is based in AlphaMetrix360’s operations center in Columbus, Ohio.
“Mark’s background of building and running back and middle-office operations have made him not only an outstanding operational executive, but one of the industry’s leading experts in operational due diligence,” says Young. “We are excited to bring on someone who will not only help provide a consistently high level of service to all of our administration clients, but also a standard of due diligence and oversight that we believe no other group can match.”
Most recently, Faulkenberg was Global Head of Operational Risk Due Diligence for International Asset Management Limited, where he oversaw a staff with coverage of more than 80 underlying hedge fund investments with approximately $3 billion invested.
Faulkenberg was previously Senior Vice President and Global Head of Operational Risk Due Diligence, Hedge Fund Accounting and Administration at Lehman Brothers Alternative Investment Management, later acquired by Neuberger Berman Alternative Investment Management. In this role he oversaw a due diligence staff that monitored over 100 underlying hedge investments, built a shareholder services team, a team responsible for fund accounting that shadowed the work of the fund administrator for improved valuation oversight and established a valuation committee to review pricing issues.
Other positions Faulkenberg has held include Global Head of Operational Risk Due Diligence and Limited Partner at Prisma Capital Partners; Vice President and Global Head of Operational Risk Due Diligence, Capital Market Strategies Group for Aegon USA Investment Management; and Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Ramsey Financial. Faulkenberg served as a linguist for United States Armed Forces intelligence, receiving the Bronze Star in 1991. He received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Indiana University in 1982.
