Gottschalk, who is a Senior Managing Director, Head of Asia and Global Head of Marketing, as well as a board member of Gottex, co-founded the asset management arm of the Gottex Group in 1998, helping it to grow to one of the top 25 fund of hedge fund firms globally, and the seventh largest in terms of institutional pension assets.

Gottex has been investing in the Asian region since 2001 and has had an office in Hong Kong since 2006. Max Gottschalk and other senior officers of the company have been traveling here regularly since the launch of the company.

Gottschalk says" “I have always met regularly with hedge fund managers and with clients across Asia, but with the huge wealth creation the region is experiencing, it is clear to me that I need to be here full time to service our clients and present them with market leading investment solutions. It shows that our firm will commit resources to service and grow our business in the region. The reception I have had has already been beyond expectations and we are excited about the potential for the coming years.”

Joachim Gottschalk, CEO and Chairman of Gottex adds: “The move of Max Gottschalk, one of the company’s co-founders and board directors, embodies the commitment of our firm to that region and the excellent opportunities it offers, both in terms of investment returns and a growing client base looking for sophisticated alternative investment solutions. He brings extensive experience to our Asian business and will play an important role in the development of our business in Asia and Australia.”
