BNY Mellon Alternative Investment Services, long regarded as one of the industry’s leading hedge fund service providers, has had its reputation in the alternatives space further strengthened by being named the largest global administrator of alternative UCITS funds. The top billing was announced in an inaugural administration survey conducted by online publication Absolute UCITS in light of the near USD16billion in alternative UCITS assets BNY Mellon administers across 22 funds. Recent figures acquired by Hedgeweek show that BNY Mellon AIS’s total assets under administration, of which alternative UCITS are a part, are USD94billion as of 31 March 2011. The firm said it had seen growing demand for its UCITS services in 2011 and expected the trend to continue as managers look to address investor concerns surrounding liquidity and transparency. “Investors are looking for enhanced transparency, liquidity and risk reporting from UCITS products. Our depth of alternative investment administration experience, coupled with our continuous product and technological innovation, means we are ideally placed to deliver the timely, in-depth information which managers need to deliver on these objectives,” said BNY Mellon AIS managing director, Marina Lewin (pictured).
