Former Carbon360 Director of Research, Daniel Golyanov, has launched Vela Advisers, a New York-based consulting and advisory firm targeting both managers and administrators with comprehensive range of services.
Vela’s offering features a suite of services for alternative fund managers and fund services providers.
Fund Services Finder is a free service to assist in the fund administrator selection process. Taking into account the manager’s holdings, fund structure, and reporting needs, Vela Advisors will screen and negotiate with dozens of providers to find a perfect partnership.
"There was a definite need in the market for a service to help managers select quality administrators and form lasting partnerships that would help both the manager and the administrator grow side by side. Vela Advisors will fill that need and bridge the information gap between the two," says Golyanov.
Vela Advisors also offers managers a research and project based front and middle office through its Fund Solutions service. Fund Solutions is designed around the needs of start-up and emerging managers that are growing and wish to outsource some of their front office functions prior to brining on additional staff. A network of experienced analysts will provide investment, risk, and modelling assistance to growing managers.
Fund Administrators will also be offered consulting on business development initiatives. Vela Advisors will provide research to administrators looking to expand and enter new markets; analysing the competitive landscape of targeted cities, local regulations, and offering perspective on available opportunities for new business.
