Mesirow Financial International UK Limited, has hired Sophia Damianou as a vice president and member of its global client relationship team. In this newly established position, Damianou will work closely with new and existing clients of the firm’s affiliated institutional multi-manager hedge fund unit, Mesirow Advanced Strategies, Inc. Her focus will be on building relationships with clients in northern Europe.
Most recently, Damianou served on the capital services team for Credit Suisse in London. Prior to that, she was an investment analyst for Southeastern Europe Management Co. in Athens, Greece. She earned her MBA from Columbia Business School, her M.S. from London School of Economics and a B.S. from University College London.
"Since the opening of Mesirow Financial’s London office in 2007, we have experienced a sizeable increase in our European client base, with the EMEA region now representing 24 perc ent of assets under management," says Dermot Keegan, head of the London office. "The addition of Sophia to the team allows us to continue on this trajectory while still maintaining the highest level of client service."
Damianou, says: "After three great years at Credit Suisse Capital Services, where I was responsible for connecting hedge fund clients to European institutional investors, I am excited to join Mesirow Financial.
