The Investment Management Association has published a guide for investors on the Key Investor Information Document (KIID) reported IFA Magazine this week. The KIID document, under UCITS IV, replaces the simplified prospectus and is aimed at giving investors a clearer, more succinct breakdown of a fund’s objectives, charges, risk profile, performance target and investment policy in the form of a two-page report. The idea being that investors will be able to make more informed decisions on the funds they choose to invest in and by able to better differentiate between the different funds available. IMA director of education and training Victoria Nye (pictured) said that KIIDs were “clear, concise and without spin, adding: “Our guide will prepare investors by providing a clear explanation of what KIIDs include. It also acts as a crucial reminder that KIIDs provide only some of the information investors need when making fund choices.”
