Dublin-headquartered Dillan Eustace, a leading Irish law firm focusing on the investment funds industry, has expanded its global footprint by opening an office in Hong Kong today. The firm has had an office in Tokyo since 2000. Paul Moloney (pictured) will head up the office where it will serve many of the firm’s Hong Kong-based clients in addition to those in China, Japan and South Korea. On its website the firm said the strength of the UCITS brand and Ireland being a pre-eminent domicile of choice for Asian UCITS, coupled with Hong Kong’s position as a leading Asian financial centre, made the city the “natural choice”. “The Asian interest in using Ireland as a base for operation is very high,” said Dillan Eustace Managing Partner, Mark Thorne. “Our decision to expand into Hong Kong is a direct response to the demand we are seeing for our expertise in what is now undoubtedly one of the world’s major financial centres.” Thorne said the new office would facilitate both Asian asset managers and international asset managers who are looking at developing both UCITS and non-UCITS products.
