CLS Group Holdings AG (CLS Group) has appointed Gabor Butor as Head of European Regulatory Affairs. He will join the executive management team and report to CEO, Alan Bozian.

Gabor’s appointment underscores CLS’s commitment to developing its regulatory affairs initiatives, which he will lead in this newly created position. Gabor will play a crucial role in developing strong and collaborative relationships with key regulators in Europe. He has significant experience of financial markets policy as the lead negotiator for the Hungarian Presidency to the EU on financial markets infrastructure regulation and, prior to this, was Financial Services EU Advisor for Hungary’s Ministry of National Economy. He also has 20 years experience accrued in financial markets, including foreign exchange interbank trading (specialising in CEE currencies) and currency options trading, having worked at RZB in Vienna and Raiffeisenbank formerly called Unicbank in Budapest.

Alan Bozian, Chief Executive Officer of CLS Group and President and CEO of CLS Bank, says: “Gabor has a wealth of knowledge and experience in working with legislators and regulators across Europe. The financial markets are undergoing a critical period of regulatory reform and Gabor will play an important role in developing an ongoing dialogue with the region’s regulators, helping them to understand the role CLS plays in mitigating risk in the FX market.”

Gabor Butor says: “I am delighted to join CLS as they work to strengthen their relationships with legislators in Europe during a critical time in the market. This is a period of considerable regulatory and legislative change and it is vital that the role CLS plays in enhancing financial stability is clearly understood.”
