London headquartered hedge fund TT International, founded in 1988 by Tim Tacchi (pictured) and co-headed by Mark Williams, is preparing to shutter its USD28million TT Asian Opportunities Fund reported AsianInvestor this week. The fund, which employs a multi-strategy approach, was launched four years ago and is managed in Hong Kong by Marius Oberholzer and Nicholas Studholme-Wilson. Both are now leaving the firm to pursue new opportunities following the decision to wind it up. Apparently this fund was one of the smallest Asian products in the firm’s product suite, which includes a number of long-only Asia-focused funds. TT International will be looking to roll out additional products moving forward. Oberholzer and Studholme-Wilson told AsianInvestor that they’d like to maintain their work partnership and ideally join a different platform. Investor redemptions in June and July and drawdowns were believed to be the reasons behind shuttering the fund. “The fund has proved unable to attract a large enough investor base to make it economically viable,” a TT International spokesperson was quoted as saying.
