Hermes BPK Partners (Hermes BPK), the USD1.6 billion alternative advisory boutique and fund of hedge funds, has appointed Robert F Wescott as its new Chairman.
With a highly distinguished career spanning more than 30 years, DrWescott is Founder and President of Keybridge Research LLC, an economic analysis firm based in Washington, DC. Keybridge has served G-7 governments, major financial institutions, and Fortune 500 companies since 2001, with Dr Wescott focusing on global macroeconomics, financial risks, and public policy research.
From 1999 until 2001, Wescott served as Special Assistant to the US President for Economic Policy at the White House. As a senior international economic adviser to President Clinton, he helped to develop Administration policies toward G-7 countries, Russia, China, India, other key emerging-market economies, and the international financial system. During 1993-94, he was Chief Economist for the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, where he developed the Administration’s US macroeconomic forecasts and performed policy analysis.
Between 1994 and 1999, Dr. Wescott was Deputy Division Chief at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and helped produce the World Economic Outlook, the IMF’s semi-annual review of world economic prospects, key risks, and policy challenges. While in the European Department Dr. Wescott was responsible for Eastern European countries in transition. During his IMF years, he participated in IMF missions to Japan, China, Poland, and a number of countries in Western Europe. Wescott holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
