Indus Capital makes two new hires for Europe fund

Indus Capital Partners, LLC has announced the creation of two new positions to support the Europe Fund. There are now eight dedicated team members and AUM of approximately USD557 million.

Jianbo “Bob” Li, PhD has joined the Europe team as an Analyst responsible for Trading, Risk and Performance Analytics for the Europe Fund. Previously he was a Doctoral Student, Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Rutgers University. Dr Li holds BS and MS degrees in Mechanics and Engineering Science from Peking University and was awarded a PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Rutgers University.
 
Keith O’Connor joins as Director of Europe Fund Operations, to coordinate internal and external resources supporting the operational infrastructure for the Indus Europe Fund. Before joining Indus, he was Chief Financial Officer at White Eagle Partners and before that, Chief Financial Officer at Wolfacre Global Management, one of the “Tiger Cubs”. He was also an Executive Director in the Prime Brokerage Division at Morgan Stanley earlier in his career. Mr. O’Connor received his BBA degree in Finance from Pace University in 1991.
 
The Indus Europe Fund was launched in 2006 by Gene Salamon, the Fund’s Portfolio Manager. Salamon has focused exclusively on European equities for over sixteen years. Prior to joining Indus Capital as a Partner in April 2006, he was a Partner and Portfolio Manager of a European equity long/short strategy for Omega Advisors. He has also worked at Objective Capital, Orchard Capital and Clay Finlay Inc. in European equity research.
