Swiss fund of hedge funds firm, Gottex Fund Management, has appointed Steven Lee Hyungwk as marketing director for Asia Pacific. Hyungwk will be based in Hong Kong and report directly to Max Gottschalk (pictured) who oversees the firm’s global business and marketing in addition to heading up Gottex’s Asia Pacific operations. Gottschalk, who co-founded Gottex in 1998 and who is also the son of CEO and chairman Joachim Gottschalk, relocated to Hong Kong this June to further grow the company’s profile in the region. Gottschalk said the firm was very pleased to welcome Steven “where he will expand our position as a leading provider of hedge fund investment solutions in the region”. He added that Lee Hyungwk’s expertise would be a key part of developing the firm’s medium term strategy for expansion in Asia Pacific. Lee Hyungwk was formerly at Wellington Management Company where he worked as a member of its marketing team from 2001.
