Barclays Capital has appointed a new hedge fund executive, Nicholas Wright, as its head of global markets reported FINalternatives this week. Wright will be based in Tokyo and will lead all sales and trading activities in Japan. He was formerly based in Australia running a portfolio of companies including an unidentified hedge fund. He also worked previously at Credit Suisse in Japan. Eiji Nakai, CEO of Barclays Capital Japan said that Wright’s breadth of global experience and proven leadership capabilities would serve to significantly enhance their client offering. “His appointment will accelerate the already strong momentum of our FICC and equities and advisory businesses in Asia Pacific, and underscores our ongoing commitment to the region,” said Nakai.
