Natixis Global Associates, the fund distribution arm of Natixis Global Asset Management, this week announced the launch of the Harris Associates Concentrated US Value Fund. It becomes the latest sub-fund to join the firm’s open-ended Lux-domiciled UCITS structure, Natixis International Funds (Lux) I and is available to UK investors. The fund will have a highly concentrated portfolio of around 20 US equities comprised of mid- and large-cap companies and is to be managed by an investment team at Harris Associates headed up by Robert Levy, CIO for US equities, along with Mike Mangan and Edward Loeb, both portfolio managers at the US firm. They will be supported by a large team of US equity analysts in their fundamental research approach to stock picking. Harris Associates is an affiliate of Natixis Global Asset Management and is a value-oriented investment firm. The firm looks for stocks trading at a discount to what it believes are their intrinsic value and uses a private equity-style approach to determining estimates of companies’ intrinsic value. Hervé Guinamant (pictured), president and CEO of Natixis Global Associates International, said he believed that the fund offered “excellent potential” for strong long-term performance thanks to the rigorous stock selection process and greater potential impact on returns from its concentrated structure. “In these challenging economic times, the Harris approach allows investors to think past short-term market movement and build durable US equities exposure,” added Guinamant.
