Simon Brazier (pictured), Threadneedle Investments’ Head of UK Equities, has commenced managing a new SICAV UK Equities fund the firm confirmed this week. The Threadneedle (Lux) UK Equities fund, the latest in the firm’s Lux-domiciled SICAV range, has apparently been launched in response to client demand and will use the same tried and tested process and techniques that have been used for over 26 years in the firm’s Threadneedle UK fund. As it’s name suggests the fund is designed for international investors looking for exposure to UK equities via an offshore vehicle. It is believed the fund will hold a basket of between 50 and 90 stocks. Brazier said that valuations of UK equities are “currently compelling” and that many companies were in good health with strong balance sheets. “We have spoken extensively to our clients and they have indicated a great appetite for a product that will capitalise on the UK investment market,” said Brazier.
