Kinetic Partners, the global professional services firm to the financial services industry, has made its first foray into Asia with the announcement of a new office in Hong Kong. Since it formed in 2005 the firm has enjoyed meaningful growth and serves over 1,200 clients, providing in-depth industry advice and analysis. The opening of the Hong Kong office underscores Kinetic Partners’ commitment to being a leading provider of advisory and consulting services to asset management, investment banking and brokerage firms worldwide. It cites the changing dynamics of the global financial services industry and the fact that Hong Kong has become a focal point for capital flows and financial services expertise as prompting the decision to expand into Asia. Julian Korek (pictured), one of Kinetic Partners’ founding members, will head up the office. Korek will be joined by AnnMarie Croswell and Winnie Tsui, both directors, Gary James, a new member of the firm, and will be supported by a team of local regulatory experts.

The office will support global financial services organisations looking to access the Hong Kong and Chinese markets, in addition to local firms, and will provide a particular focus on regulatory compliance services and tax structures. It will also advise on SEC registrations for firms affected by the Dodd-Frank Reform Act and the UK’s FSA regulatory framework. Korek called the opening of the Hong Kong office a “major milestone” for the firm. “Our unique model of a single global firm with deep technical knowledge and industry experience, working as one team that is totally accessible to all our clients, is seen as a step forward in the Asian marketplace,” said Korek, adding that further expansion into Singapore and mainland China would be considered over time.
