In co-operation with ČEZ Group, the European Energy Exchange (EEX) has expanded its Transparency in Energy Markets platform with energy market data from the Czech Republic.
From now on, information provided voluntarily on the platform regarding the installed and available capacity, the volume generated on the previous day as well as scheduled and unscheduled non-availabilities of power from ČEZ power plants will be displayed on the platform.
Compared with the entire generation capacity installed in the Czech Republic the degree of coverage (20.2 GW) is approximately 60 per cent.
“Through the enlargement of the platform with Czech generation data we have achieved another important step in the transparency on the European energy market,” says Christoph Mura (pictured), chief operating officer of EEX.
Michal Skalka, director of ČEZ Group trading department, adds: "We are entering the EEX in order to be more transparent, as this portal also presents complete data from other providers. On the whole, this will contribute to better transparency in the generation of electricity and it helps us to meet the REMIT requirements."
Both invite other market participants to join in and also publish data on power plants of every size and for every type of fuel on the platform. In the course of the implementation of the EU Regulation on Energy Market Integrity and Transparency (REMIT), EEX is currently in the process of further developing the technology of the platform so that it can be expanded with additional information. Due to its modular structure the Transparency in Energy Markets platform is suitable for integrating data reports from further countries.
Transparency in Energy Markets is the neutral platform for energy market data which fulfils the statutory publication requirements and implements voluntary commitments of the market participants. The transparency platform for generation and consumption data was established by EEX together with the four German transmission system operators – 50Hertz Transmission, Amprion, TenneT TSO and TransnetBW – and the Austrian transmission system operator Austrian Power Grid.
