Centaur Fund Services provided consulting advice and assistance to Clearstream Banking over the development and launch of a new hedge fund investor services platform.
Clearstream customers can now invest in hedge funds using a single point of entry for orders, streamlined cash management and consolidated position reporting.
With the launch of the new service Clearstream will drive automation in the investment process for hedge funds and make it easier for investors to access this important asset class.
Centaur will continue to provide consultancy services to Clearstream as it builds and grows the new hedge fund investor services business over the coming years.
Philippe Seyll, head of investment funds services and member of the executive board at Clearstream, says: "We decided to enter the hedge fund business 18 months ago and started looking for a partner and consultant with excellent know-how of this particular industry, but also with strong consulting and project management skills. The inauguration of our new Dublin branch marks a milestone for Clearstream and we would like to thank Centaur for their contribution to make this venture a success. We are looking forward to working with Centaur as we continue to grow our business in Ireland."
Clearstream’s Vestima platform now covers investments in all asset classes and processes over six million settlement instructions per year. Clearstream holds over EUR11trn of client assets in custody.
Ronan Daly, Centaur’s chairman, says: “We are delighted to have been selected by Clearstream to assist them with such an important venture. This is testament to Centaur’s institutional approach to the business and to our deep understanding of the needs of hedge funds and their investors.”
