Old Mutual Global Investors picks Pepper as MD of alternatives

Old Mutual Global Investors, the merged business of Old Mutual Asset Managers (UK) (OMAM) and Skandia Investment Group (SIG), has appointed Donald Pepper as managing director of alternatives.



Julian Ide, chief executive of Old Mutual Global Investors, says: “I am delighted that Donald has joined us in this new role. Donald will bring enhanced strategic leadership to the non-investment side of Old Mutual Global Investor’s alternatives business. We have completely reinvigorated our distribution teams in 2012 and Donald will make a significant contribution to the growth of our business.”
 
Pepper joins Old Mutual from TT International where he was investment director – hedge funds. He started his career at Goldman Sachs in 1987. He spent 16 years there, in fixed income and prime brokerage, before joining Merrill Lynch in 2003 as managing director of the European prime brokerage business. In 2008 Pepper took up the position of head of alternatives at New Star Asset Management.  Following its acquisition of New Star he held the position of head of hedge funds at Henderson Global Investors until leaving to join TT International in 2010.
