Can Uran joins EMEA Capital as chief investment officer

EMEA Capital, the independent asset management firm, has appointed Can Uran as managing partner and chief investment officer.

 
Uran will work alongside EMEA Capital’s managing partner and chief executive officer Osman Semerci in the firm’s London office.
 
Uran joins EMEA Capital from UBS where he was global co-head of emerging markets trading for three years, responsible for all credit, rates and foreign exchange products in Latin America, Central/Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia. He was also a member of the global fixed income, currencies and commodities executive committee.
 
Between 2007 and 2010, Uran worked at Merrill Lynch, latterly running emerging markets credit trading for Central/Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
 
Prior to Merrill Lynch, Uran spent 11 years at Goldman Sachs in buy-side and sell-side trading roles including head of capital structure trading, head of credit and convertibles trading for Asia, Japan and Australia and head of illiquid credit trading for Europe.
 
Uran began his trading career in 1993 at Morgan Stanley’s derivative products group in New York.
