Sanlam Securities partners with corporate mining specialist in South Africa

Related Topics

Sanlam Securities has entered into a strategic partnership with Qinisele Resources, a specialist mining corporate advisory boutique based in South Africa.

This alliance will provide small and mid-cap African mining companies access to specialist mining investors based in the UK and Europe, whilst also facilitating UK and European companies’ access to projects in Africa.

London-based Sanlam Securities UK already has an established small cap mining sector franchise but is now looking to expand this in the UK and internationally, using its and Qinisele Resources’ contact base.

Qinisele Resources is headed up by Dennis Tucker, an investment banker and mining engineer who has spent some 30 years in the mining sector, with a focus on Africa. Backed up by Andrew Brady for the past 16 years, they have a team consisting of investment bankers, lawyers and technical experts based in offices in Johannesburg and Cape Town with an extensive contact base throughout South Africa and Africa.

Simon Clements (pictured), head of corporate at Sanlam Securities UK, says: “We are delighted to announce our partnership with Qinisele which will be of great benefit to our prospective and existing clients and will differentiate our offering. There are plentiful mining opportunities in South Africa and on the other side we have been working with Qinisele Resources since early 2013 and have already closed one deal, where we introduced investors to a UK listed company.”

Tucker says: “The partnership with Sanlam Securities will further expand the spectrum of services that we offer and will provide our clients with a direct link to access the UK capital markets as a source of funding for their projects and corporate activity.”
