VAM launches enhanced equity absolute return fund

Related Topics

Luxembourg-domiciled VAM Funds is launching an enhanced equity fund, which targets absolute returns, on 8 November 2013.

This addition will further strengthen the range of funds available on VAM’s UCITS IV regulated platform, which is focused on providing investors with funds that incorporate all asset classes – including equities, commodities, bonds and multi asset portfolios.

As with its existing 13 funds the VAM Enhanced Equity Fund will tap into VAM’s distribution, marketing and administration network. Key features will include daily dealing, liquidity and transparency with no exit or redemption fees. It will be available through the usual life company wrappers and platforms.

VAM Enhanced Equity Fund is an absolute return fund based around equity index futures. It will be managed by Jason Webster of Fleming Family and Partners (FF&P) and will be seeded by FF&P.

The fund invests in e-mini S&P 500 equity index futures. It is available in three currency classes – USD, GBP and EUR.

The fund has initial seed money of USD15.5m and it is FF&P’s intention to follow up this up with substantial additional funds shortly after fund launch.

Nigel Watson (pictured), VAM sales director, says: “We have been seeking to widen our range of funds as a result of demand from our international network of advisers and their clients.

“VAM now offers 14 funds covering equities, commodities, bonds, and real estate. Until these recent additions the funds covered a range of differing market capitalisations and global territories targeting either growth or income so it made sense to add a choice of absolute return funds to the options available to investors.”
