Ridge Road Partners names Michael Mager partner

Ridge Road Partners, a private investment partnership focused on long-run value creation, has appointed former Ward Ferry Management partner and fund manager Michael Mager as a partner of the firm.

In his new role, Mager will help develop Ridge Road’s public market efforts in addition to working on the firm’s existing private investments. He will be based in New York.

Mager joins Ridge Road’s managing partners – hedge fund veteran Adam Jiwan and entrepreneur Brian Norton – who formed the partnership in October 2012.

Ridge Road focuses on long-run value creation by acquiring and developing private companies and by making concentrated and opportunistic investments in public securities.

“Brian and I could not be more thrilled that Michael is joining the firm as our third partner,” says Jiwan. “I have known Michael for many years, and his extensive global investment experience and track-record will prove valuable for Ridge Road as we pursue future opportunities.”

“Ridge Road had an impressive first year,” says Mager. “I am eager to join the team, working together with Adam and Brian to leverage their expertise and build a great and lasting business.”

Most recently, Mager spent more than seven years in Hong Kong with Ward Ferry, an Asian hedge fund, during which time the firm had up to USD2.5bn of assets under management. Mager was a partner and a fund manager at Ward Ferry and played a principal role in determining both investment and business strategy for the firm.
