The Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association (CAIA) is to certify Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business secondary concentration in its alternative investing designation.

Gabelli School of Business students taking the secondary concentration in alternative investing and their professors will now be able to prepare and sit for the CAIA exam part one, as a first step toward their completion of a CAIA certification in the specialised field of alternative investments.

The agreement was signed by Donna Rapaccioli, dean of the Gabelli School of Business and the Business Faculty, and Keith Black, director of curriculum at CAIA.

“This partnership and certification, in combination with our coursework, secondary concentration and employer outreach will position our students to be valuable members of the alternative investment community upon graduation,” says Kevin Mirabile, clinical assistant professor of finance and business economics and programme director of the alternative investment secondary concentration at Fordham University.

“CAIA helps financial professionals get smart and stay smart through alternative investment education that is relevant, global and exceptional,” says William Kelly, CEO of the CAIA Association. “We are delighted to have Fordham as an academic partner and look forward to seeing many students pursue the programme.”
