Cello Capital Management adds senior portfolio manager for agency MBS

Related Topics

Cello Capital Management, a mortgage-backed securities (MBS) investment manager, has appointed Nicholas Letica as a managing director and senior portfolio manager.

"With steady growth and strategic hires such as Nick over the past five years, Cello has established itself as a leading agency MBS manager," says Antoine Schetritt, managing member and chief investment officer of Cello. "I've known or worked with Nick for 14 years, and I'm excited to add his knowledge of MBS markets to the portfolio management team as Cello continues to expand its capabilities."

Schetritt founded Cello in 2009 as an investment advisory firm that effaced the traditional boundaries between portfolio management, research and information technology to capitalise on opportunities within the housing finance sector. Cello's flagship fund, Cello Fixed Income Master Fund, launched in January 2010 with a focus on agency MBS.  The firm also manages bespoke agency MBS portfolios.

Letica brings to Cello 27 years of MBS experience as a managing director in senior leadership roles in MBS trading at Bear Stearns, Deutsche Bank and HSBC, and portfolio management at Bankers Trust.
