The SYZ & CO group has launched a retail class for OYSTER European Selection, the fund of its Luxembourg Sicav OYSTER.
Until now, this fund launched in 2011 was available only to institutional investors.
Since it was launched, OYSTER European Selection has ranked in the first percentile of European equity funds, with a cumulative performance of +83.6 per cent.
Launched in November 2011 and managed by Eric Bendahan, OYSTER European Selection retains the approach and philosophy of the fund OYSTER European Opportunities but with a longer investment horizon (more than five years). This enables the manager to be more selective, by focussing on companies’ longer-term growth and on companies being turned around.
Bendahan’s choices are based on strong bottom-up convictions, mainly in the following categories: family companies, highly differentiated business models in mature sectors, companies for which there are large valuation discrepancies between their shares and their bonds and significant changes in their management or shareholders.
The fund has a cumulative performance of +83.6 per cent as against +56.9 per cent for its benchmark index STOXX Europe 600 EUR NR2.
