Aberdeen Asset Management CIO wins 100 WHF 2014 European Industry Leadership Award

Anne Richards, chief investment officer of Aberdeen Asset Management, will be presented the 100 Women in Hedge Funds (100WHF) 2014 European Industry Leadership Award at its London Gala in October 2014.

Each year, the organisation identifies a woman whose professional talent, business ethic, and passion for investing help define and advance the hedge fund industry's standards of excellence.
 
"100 Women in Hedge Funds is thrilled to recognise the leadership and achievements of Anne Richards, who has long been acknowledged as an outstanding investment professional and colleague in her 20-plus year career. We also salute Anne for her commitment to the professional advancement of women in all areas of the investment industry and in service on corporate boards," says Kristen Eshak Weldon, chair, 100 Women in Hedge Funds London and senior managing director, The Blackstone Group International Partners.
 
Past European Industry Leadership Award recipients include Leda Braga, BlueCrest Capital; Mina Gerowin, Paulson Europe; Gay Huey-Evans; Geraldine Sundstrom, Brevan Howard Asset Management; Galia Velimukhametova, GLG Partners; Sandra Robertson, Oxford University Endowment Management Limited; and Dame Amelia Fawcett DBE, chairman, Hedge Fund Standards Board in London.
 
In addition to her work at Aberdeen Asset Management, Richards holds a number of non-executive positions. She is a director of esure Group, a lay member of Court of the University of Edinburgh, a member of Council of the Duchy of Lancaster and a member of the FCA Practitioner Panel. She is also a member of the board of leaders of 2020 Women on Boards, a US based organisation dedicated to increasing the proportion of women on corporate boards.
