Neuberger Berman appoints former McKinsey partner Celine Dufetel as head of client service

Neuberger Berman Group has appointed investment management expert Celine Dufetel as its new head of client service, effective immediately.

Dufetel joins Neuberger Berman from management consultant McKinsey & Company, where she was a partner and served as leader of the North American asset management practice. She has deep expertise across the asset management arena, including the institutional, wealth management and retirement channels, and has led teams across a broad range of strategy, distribution, organisation and operations engagements.

Dufetel is currently a member of the board of directors for CityHarvest, a non-profit organisation committed to ending hunger in communities throughout New York City.

Dufetel, who will report to chief operating officer and global head of distribution Andrew Komaroff, succeeds Lori Holland, who has taken a senior position on Neuberger Berman's Multi-Asset Class (MAC) team. Over the past year, the firm has made a significant investment in enhancing its MAC team, including the appointment of Erik Knutzen as Multi-Asset Class chief investment officer in May 2014.

"Our client franchise has grown considerably over the past five years as we expanded existing relationships across asset classes and added new ones supported by our significant investment in our client coverage team globally. Celine will lead our efforts to ensure we both continue to anticipate the evolving requirements of our diverse client base and elevate the bar for industry-leading service," says Komaroff.
