Moran, a partner in the London office’s investment management practice, joined Ropes & Gray in August 2013 from Dechert LLP.  She focuses on advising European and US clients on the establishment, authorisation and management of all types of retail and institutional investment funds domiciled in the UK, Ireland, Luxembourg and Jersey including UCITS, ICVCs, investment trusts, hedge funds, real estate funds and segregated institutional portfolios.

Established in 1947, the International Bar Association is the world’s leading organisation of legal practitioners, bar associations and law societies.  The organisation influences the development of international law reform and aids to shape the future of the legal profession throughout the world.  The Investment Funds Committee provides support to its members across the world on the developments in the global investment funds industry.

Moran says: “The global investment funds industry is a dynamic and growing industry undergoing a period of significant change.  The Investment Funds Committee provides a unique international forum for considering developments in the industry, ever more needed in our interdependent global environment.  It is a privilege to have the opportunity to work alongside other committee members who are veterans in the funds space.”

Jack Berk, the Investment Funds Committee’s Co-Chair, adds: “We are delighted to welcome Michelle Moran to our committee.  Michelle brings with her a wealth of experience when we are rolling out a comprehensive program of events focused on supporting our members and the global investment funds community to respond to the opportunities and challenges ahead.”
