Candriam Investor’s Group appoints Matthieu David as Head of Italy

Candriam Investors Group, the pan-European multi-asset manager, has appointment Matthieu David as Head of Candriam Investors Group Italy. 

David will report directly to Renato Guerriero, Global Head of European Client Relations, who recently was appointed Member of the Executive Committee.
 
David will be responsible for Candriam’s business development strategy in Italy in order to leverage Candriam’s proprietary platform and investment expertise. In addition to consolidating Candriam’s presence in the pension fund and institutional mandates sector, Matthieu David will lead the company’s growth in asset management and distribution. David leads a team of four sales managers and will coordinate local support functions including Client Relations and Marketing.
 
Matthieu David, 44 years old, has over 20 years experience and joins Candriam Investors Group from BNP Paribas Investment Partners where he was the Director of External Distribution in Italy, after having led the Retail division from 2010 to 2013. While at BNP Paribas Investment Partners, David was responsible for implementing the newly created European retail sales division and defining the strategy for investment solutions. From 2007 to 2010 he held the position of Senior Client Relationship Manager at Fortis Investments Management Italia. Prior to Fortis, David spent more than ten years with AXA Group in Italy, working on sales development, planning and control, real estate management and internal audit.
 
Candriam Investor’s Group also announces two new hires to the sales team in Italy – Alessandro Malinverno and Ergys Luga. Alongside Emanuele Colombo and Jessica Fasan presently in Italy, Alessandro Malinverno and Ergys Luga will assist in developing the distribution of Candriam funds through Italian banks and financial advisors network including institutional clients.
 
Alessandro Malinverno, 50 years old, joins from Banca Reale in Italy where he was the Head of Third Parties and the Distribution Network from 2011 onwards. At Banca Reale, M Malinverno developed significant experience in the field of distribution and fund selectors. From 2009 to 2011 he was the Head of Wholesale and Retail Advisory at Pioneer Investments, and before the merger he worked as an Investment and Institutional Relationship Manager at Capitalia AM from 2005 to 2009.
 
Ergys Luga, 33 years old, joined  Candriam in 2009 and spent four years as an Alternative Investment Specialist. In 2013 he joined the sales team where he was first covering the Nordic market and recently relocated to Italy. Candriam Investors Group opened its’ office in Italy in 2000 and is among the leading asset managers in Italy in the pension fund industry with a total of  24 management mandates and EUR2.8 billion in total in managed funds (data as of 31 December 2014).

Previously, Candriam Investors Group announced the nomination of Renato Guerriero, Global Head of European Client Relations as Member of the Executive Committee. Guerriero who joined Candriam in 2001 as Head of Institutional Sales in Italy and was responsible for launching Candriam’s highly successful office in Milan has seen his role expand to include all historical distribution partnerships, relations with third-party distributors, as well as international consultants.
 
Guerriero continues to be based in Milan, Italy and will have oversight of Candriam Investors Group operations in Italy.
