Multi-asset class investment manager PineBridge Investments has appointed Anik Sen as Global Head of Equities, effective immediately.

Sen is responsible for managing the firm's global equities business with USD21.2 billion in assets under management as of 31 December, 2014. He is based in New York and reports to PineBridge's Chief Executive Officer, David Jiang.

"I am pleased that Anik will lead PineBridge's global equities business," says David Jiang. "Anik has a successful history of delivering alpha-focused solutions for our clients and a clear vision for further advancing our equities investment management business."

PineBridge Equities is differentiated through the use of a proven investment process that has delivered high risk-adjusted returns through the market cycle. This process is built on the fundamental insights of PineBridge's on-the-ground teams across asset classes, the global investment perspectives developed by connecting and integrating our local teams, and the use of advanced portfolio construction techniques.

"The strength of our equities team is found in our ability and in our organisation to produce consistent and superior investment performance," adds Sen. "We have world-class local products and high-capacity global and regional products that are competitive against our peers.  Our size, our culture to collaborate and innovate, and our global presence are competitive advantages that allow us to stay ahead of the market."

Sen joined PineBridge in the London office in 2008 where he held senior investment roles in global equities and relocated from the London office to New York in June 2014 as Interim Global Head of Equities.

Prior to joining PineBridge, Sen was a Portfolio Manager at Brevan Howard where he managed a long-short equity portfolio. He was a Managing Director, Business Unit Leader and the Head of the European Financials research team at Goldman Sachs and a Managing Director and the Head of the European Banks research team at UBS Warburg. Early in his career, he was an equity analyst at Fidelity Investments. Sen received a BSc in Electrical Engineering from University of Southampton and an MBA from INSEAD.
