Jay Novatney joins PTAM as COO

Jay Novatney, a 14-year veteran of the alternative investment industry, will be joining PT Asset Management (PTAM) as Chief Operating Officer on 2 March, 2015.

Novatney will join the firm as part of the executive management team, responsible for the oversight of PTAM’s back office function including operations, finance, and accounting as well as coordination of the firm’s legal and compliance functions.

Prior to joining PTAM, Novatney spent over nine years as a principal of Chicago Fundamental Investment Partners, LLC (CFIP), a credit-focused alternative investment management firm, after having co-founded the firm in late 2005. During his tenure at CFIP, he managed a variety of senior-level functions including the firm’s operations, finance, legal and compliance activities. Novatney began his investment management career in 2001 at Citadel Investment Group, LLC where he spent four years as an analyst with Citadel’s credit group focusing on high yield/distressed debt and special situations investments. From 1996 to 2001, Novatney was a corporate/M&A associate at Latham & Watkins LLP, a large international law firm.

Novatney holds a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and earned his undergraduate degree in engineering sciences from Harvard University where he graduated magna cum laude in 1993.
