Fix will be based in Singapore and will be responsible for leading CME Group's efforts to develop benchmark products and services to meet the needs of its customer base in the region. He will join CME Group on June 3, 2015, and will report to London-based William Knottenbelt, Senior Managing Director and Head of International, CME Group.

In addition to his new role, Fix has been appointed to the Board of Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) and as Chairman of DME Asia Pte Ltd. DME was launched in 2007 as a joint venture between CME Group, Dubai Holdings and the Oman Investment Fund.

"Asia Pacific is a key component of our international strategy and we now generate over 30 per cent of our revenues from outside the US as our global efforts to expand continue to take root," says Knottenbelt.  "We are excited to have Christopher on board, and we are confident that with his understanding and knowledge of the Asia Pacific markets, he is well-positioned to lead the team in the region, and further drive our efforts to help clients with their risk management needs."

Before joining CME Group, Fix served as Chief Executive Officer at DME from August 2012, where he spearheaded DME's strategic development and established close ties with oil producers, customers, and the financial community, with particular focus on DME's core target market of Asia.  Prior to that, Fix had a successful career spanning 20 years with BNP Paribas, with his most recent position there as Head of Marketing for Commodity Futures Asia Pacific.

CME Group maintains an extensive footprint in Asia Pacific, and offers an expanding product and service line, supported by a multi-functional and multi-asset class team working closely with its diverse customer base to serve its risk management and investment requirements. In Asia Pacific, CME Group has close to 90 employees across five offices in Beijing, Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore and Tokyo.
