State Street Corporation has appointed Effie Datson as global head of product for its Alternative Investment Solutions division. Datson’s initial focus will be on expanding the global footprint of InfraHedge, State Street’s USD15 billion managed account platform.
In this newly created role, Datson will be based in London and will report to George Sullivan, global head of Alternative Investment Solutions at State Street. Working together with Bruce Keith, global head of InfraHedge, her immediate focus will be to take responsibility for further developing the InfraHedge offering and introducing its bespoke, infrastructure-only managed accounts solution to large institutional investors globally. Datson joins from Deutsche Bank where she was global co-head of hedge fund sales and was instrumental in the development of its dbSelect managed account platform.
“There is a huge opportunity in the managed accounts space as large asset owners start to take much greater direct control over their investments and behave increasingly like asset managers,” says Sullivan. “Effie’s global experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow and strengthen our alternatives business.”
