Cronin, who has considerable investigative experience working with government agencies such as the FBI and DEA on both domestic and cross border operations, has also served as a Police Sergeant, an undercover agent, President of private security consulting firm Executive Security and Protection Inc., as well as a Special Agent for the Department of Homeland Security.

Cronin brings more than 23 years of investigative, intelligence and security experience to Mackinac Partners, including working as an agent for the FBI, DEA, and federal and state jurisdictions on large scale conspiracy and fraud investigations, corruption cases, and international undercover operations, including narcotics and money laundering investigations.

“We are very pleased to have Kevin join our practice,” says Mackinac Partners Managing Partner Jim Weissenborn. “Our Business Intelligence and Security practice continues to grow and we are doing a lot of cross border work, helping to secure our customers operations, partner channels, strategic assets and growth. Kevin has considerable experience across all of these areas, he has operated under a top level US Security clearance in the past, and has worked successfully with companies and agencies both within the US and internationally. We look forward to integrating his expertise into our client and partner network.”

As a Special Agent in the US Department of Homeland Security, Office of Inspector General, Cronin conducted independent investigations of the programs and operations of DHS and developed plans for DHS to carry out its responsibilities in the most effective, secure, efficient, and economical manner possible, including investigations deterring and addressing fraud or abuse of funds invested or controlled by Homeland Security.

As President of Executive Security and Protection Inc., Cronin successfully provided strategic executive protection, intelligence, security detail and security consulting services for clients and dignitaries including President George W. Bush, Michigan State Representative Pete Hoekstra, Congressman Joe Knollenberg, United Trucking, and Jewellers and Diamond Brokers representing the New York Diamond Exchange. Cronin also served as a Police Sergeant for Farmington Hills, Michigan, where led a specialised operational unit handling misdemeanour and felony law enforcement matters, undercover investigations, and served as tactical team lead for SWAT operations.

“It is increasingly important that we are able to provide security and intelligence solutions to our clients that are both locality focused and regionally integrated, particularly in cross border or multi-national situations,” says Greg Suhajda, Senior Managing Director of Mackinac Partners’ Business Intelligence and Corporate Security Practice said.

“Kevin has significant experience in all of the areas relevant to our corporate security clients – harnessing intelligence, securing operations, cross border investigations, asset and corporate protection, and government and jurisdictional coordination. We have partnered successfully with Kevin in the past and are very happy to welcome him to the Mackinac Partners team,” adds Suhajda.

Cronin has received formal training from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, US Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General, as well as many government and national Anti-Terrorism and security organisations.

Cronin earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Concordia University and is a Graduate of Northwestern University’s Police Staff and Command, Class 285, which is recognized as the leading management course for law enforcement personnel. Cronin is also a graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick, Georgia.
