Matthew Granade to join Point72 Asset Management as Chief Marker Intelligence Officer

Matthew Granade has been named Chief Market Intelligence Officer at Point72 Asset Management (Point72). He will lead several of the Firm's unique research capabilities, including Canvas, Aperio, TRAC, and its team of economists.

“Matthew is a proven leader of a large-scale investment research organisation. His experience combines big-picture innovation and the challenge of producing high quality investment insight every day,” says Point72 CEO Steve Cohen (pictured).
 
“The Chief Market Intelligence role will strengthen and integrate research and data capabilities inside and outside our Firm for the benefit of our investment professionals,” says President Doug Haynes. “Matthew's unique background touches many of the areas that will strengthen our platform's advantages.”
 
Prior to joining Point72, Granade founded, advised, and invested in early-stage advanced analytics, data, and financial technology firms. He co-founded Domino Data Lab (Domino), which provides a platform for data scientists in a wide range of industries to accelerate their work and increase collaboration between analytics and applications for big data. He will remain on the boards of directors of Domino and Quantopian, Inc.
 
Before starting Domino, Granade served as co-head of Research for Bridgewater Associates, where he built and led teams that developed insights on the global economy, created new systems for capturing alpha, provided daily trading signals, and published Bridgewater's market commentary, Daily Observations.
 
Earlier in his career, Granade was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company. Granade earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master’s in Business Administration from Harvard University, where he also served as the President of the Harvard Crimson.
