Odeon Capital Group LLC Announces Product and Research Expansion

Odeon Capital Group, a New York-based independent Broker-Dealer with trading, investment banking and research services, has expanded into US Fixed Income Rates Trading with the hiring of a team of five individuals and the addition of veteran retail-focused analyst, Rick Snyder.

"We are very excited to add our rates team to the Odeon platform and its client first mentality. We hope to add to its already strong reputation and be a value added treasury desk for Odeon's customers. We believe that we may finally be at the beginning of a long term rising rate environment and hope we can help our clients navigate through such a difficult move," says Rogan.
 
Jason Rogan most recently was a Managing Director at Guggenheim Securities for the past 6 years where he ran the US Treasury desk. He helped create the rates desk in 2009 for Guggenheim. Prior to that, he traded at Jefferies LLC, for almost 6 years, after starting his career at Merrill Lynch in 2001. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame.
 
Robert Zegarra will trade the front end of the US Treasury curve for Odeon. Rob began his career in the US Treasury market in 2002 at Deutsche Bank Securities and then joined Cantor Fitzgerald in 2005 where he co-founded Cantor’s Treasury primary dealership. After leaving Cantor to co-found the US rates desk at Standard Chartered Bank, Rob had most recently headed up the Treasury desk at Wunderlich Securities. Zegarra is a graduate of Saint Peter's College.
 
John "Rocket" Spinello will focus on sales and technical analysis. Spinello has over 40 years Fixed Income market experience as both a distinguished analyst and trader. He began trading US treasuries at primary dealers Briggs Schaedle and Paine Webber before joining Merrill Lynch in 1979. His career at Merrill spanned 25 years where he traded Treasuries, FX, and lastly as the Chief Technical Analyst for US rates for over 15 years. After leaving Merrill Lynch in 2004, Spinello had most recently focused on sales and strategy at both Jefferies LLC and Guggenheim Securities before joing Odeon. Spinello is a graduate of Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute.
 
Edward DeSimone began his career at Paine Webber working in OTC Treasury and MBS options. In 2003 he joined Jefferies LLC where he traded agency bullets for nine yearrs. DeSimone was most recently at Guggenheim Securities trading agency bullets and Treasury floaters. Ed will focus on rates sales at Odeon. He is a graduate of Villanova University.
 
Matthew Hesterberg started his career at Merrill Lynch in 2001 where he traded US Treasuries in New York before moving to Tokyo for the firm in 2007 to handle the Asian session. In 2009 he joined Jefferies LLC where he served as the new primary dealer’s first London based US Treasury trader. After trading US Treasuries in London for Citigroup for thee years Hesterberg was most recently a Managing Director in BNY Mellon’s fixed income department. Matthew will focus on rates sales for Odeon. He is a graduate of Boston College.

Expanding Odeon’s equity research department, Odeon is pleased to announce that Rick Snyder is joining as an equity analyst. Snyder most recently worked at Maxim Group LLC as a Research Analyst covering the retail sector. Prior to Maxim he was an analyst at Millennium Management LLC, a Multi strategy hedge fund where he focused on retail. Rick has also held positions at Salomon Brothers, and at Morgan Keegan, where he was a soft lines analyst. Rick earned a BS in Finance from Southern Illinois University, and an MBA from Syracuse University.
