Adam Beatty promoted to MD of Nephila Advisors UK Ltd

Nephila Capital has promoted Adam Beatty (pictured) to Managing Director of Nephila Advisors UK Ltd. Nephila is an institutional asset manager of vehicles dedicated to investing in natural catastrophe and weather risk insurance linked securities.

Nephila Advisors UK provides non-discretionary sub-advisory and investor relations services. Beatty, who joined the firm in 2013 has contributed to Nephila's business in many ways, including investor relations and business development across Europe and the Middle East, and in January 2014, he assumed the role of Active Underwriter for syndicate 2357.

Beatty joined Nephila in January 2013 as Business Development Director, based in London and performs a multi-faceted role including responsibility for the administration of Nephila's Lloyd's syndicate platform (London market liaison with brokers and trading counterparties and investor relations)
 
Beatty, who has 21 years' experience of reinsurance markets, was a perviously Managing Director with Willis Capital Markets & Advisory, the Willis Group's investment banking unit, based in New York and more recently London. He focused on projects such as catastrophe bond structuring and origination and transaction structuring and capital raising for the catastrophe risk asset class. From 2004 to 2006, Beatty was the Chief Financial Officer for Willis's global reinsurance business, Willis Re. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1994 and before commencing a 15-year career at the Willis Group, worked at an audit firm specialising in insurance business and the Lloyd's market.
