Point72 Asset Management (Point72), the family office managing the assets of its founder, Steven A Cohen (pictured), and eligible employees, has named Joshua Varsano to lead its Human Resources (HR) group.

Varsano will be responsible for managing all of Point72’s HR operations, including: compensation and benefits; Investment Services talent acquisition; the talent management and promotion processes; and the Firm’s HR Generalist team.

“Josh has a strong record of leading innovative transformation across recruiting, leadership, and overall talent management organisations. His expertise and experience are assets as we continue to transform the human capital platform and culture of Point72 in support of our mission to offer the greatest opportunities to the industry’s brightest talent,” says Point72 president Doug Haynes.

“Josh’s knowledge and skills will immediately help us improve our service execution and delivery, and also will help us as we design and revise other human capital initiatives related to our talent development and retention programs,” adds Point72 Head of Human Capital Michael Butler.

Varsano joins Point72 from JP Morgan Chase & Co (JPMC) where he was a Managing Director for Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) responsible for human resources strategy for the Corporate Functions segment of CCB. Prior to his role with CCB, Varsano built and led the JPMorgan Investment Bank Global Experienced and Executive Recruiting function. In this role, he developed an innovative global recruiting model based on in-house direct sourcing with strategic support from external search partners. This model, grounded in predictive analytics and benchmarked across JPMC and other investment banks, materially reduced cost and agency dependency while improving the quality and depth of candidate pipelines.

Before JPMC, Varsano was a Principal with Sextant Search Partners and held leadership positions with Cigna, UBS Investment Bank, and IBM.
