Christopher Seaver joins the hedge fund sponsor Rohatyn Group as partner

Emerging markets asset management firm The Rohatyn Group (TRG) has appointed Christopher Seaver as a Partner. Seaver is a 24-year veteran in the industry with extensive experience in Asia-Pacific markets.

Based in TRG’s Hong Kong office, Seaver will be responsible for oversight of the firm’s regional initiatives in Asia including new business development and management of existing and new strategic partnerships. He will also serve on TRG’s Executive Committee.

Prior to joining TRG, Seaver was CEO of CLSA Capital Partners (CLSACP), the alternative asset management arm of Asia-based brokerage and investment bank CLSA Limited. CLSACP manages approximately USD3 billion in a diversified range of strategies across Asia. Seaver also served briefly as Managing Director for China at Darby Overseas Investors Ltd. in Hong Kong. Between 1992 and 2007, he held various roles at JP Morgan Chase & Co. in New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo. Seaver was a member of the JP Morgan senior management team executing proprietary and strategic initiatives for the company in Asia between 2000 and 2008. Seaver holds a law degree from the University of Virginia, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.
