Janus Capital International, the international arm of Janus Capital Group, has appointed Chris Justice (pictured) as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Europe.

Based in London, Justice will develop and execute Janus Capital International’s business strategy across EMEA. Working with Jamie Wong, Head of Institutions, EMEA and Sylvain Agar, Head of Financial Intermediaries, EMEA, Justice will ensure the firm is operationally set up to strengthen relationships with its investors across the region, as well as diversify and deliver investment solutions for its clients and partners.

Previously based in Hong Kong as Head of Strategic Initiatives for APAC and EMEA, Justice continues to report to Augustus Cheh, President of Janus Capital International, under whose direction Janus Capital International has achieved significant growth. As of December 31, 2015, Janus Capital International had $42.4 billion AUM, more than triple that from the end of 2010 ($13.3billion AUM) when the firm started its intelligent diversification initiative into the international market. At the end of 2015, Janus Capital Group's global assets totalled $192.3 billion, of which Janus Capital International represented 22% of total global assets up from 8% in 2010.

Augustus Cheh, President of Janus Capital International, says: “We are delighted that Chris is taking on this EMEA role, marking an important stage of our international growth story. We believe investors today require a greater choice of strategies and as such we are committed to offering a broad and differentiated range of investment solutions across international markets, suited to investors’ individual and local needs. Chris is a key part of our EMEA business strategy at an important time for Janus Capital International, as we build upon a number of strong growth years across both our retail and institutional franchises.”

Justice adds: “As we expand across a breadth of often complex international marketplaces, it is imperative we build ever stronger ties to our clients, through a firm understanding of local markets and by ensuring we have the right solutions in place for all our clients. I look forward to building on our recent growth trend as we seek to create new long-term partnerships and reinforce existing ones across the region.”

Prior to joining Janus in 2013, Justice was Managing Director of Quam (Hong Kong), where he led a team of research analysts and asset managers providing non-discretionary portfolio advice to high net worth and retail investors. Chris began his career in finance with Bankers Trust Company, in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Relocating to Hong Kong in 1987, Chris worked in private equity and venture capital with the Morningside Group and in corporate development with the South China Morning Post Group
