Crestline Investors expands opportunistic credit platform

Related Topics

Crestline Investors has hire an experienced European Opportunistic Credit team and opened its first European office in London. This move represents an expansion of the firm's well-established US Opportunistic Credit Platform.

Michael Guy, Crestline's Chief Investment Officer of Europe, will lead the London office.

"The opening of our London office extends our geographic capabilities and complements our U.S. Opportunistic and Credit efforts," says Douglas Bratton, Chief Executive Officer of Crestline. "Crestline is committed to growing its Opportunistic Credit platform and establishing on-the-ground resources in locations that support our investor base and where we see attractive investment opportunities."

Guy has over 20 years of experience in the investment industry and founded the Tenax Credit Opportunities Fund. Previously, he was Co-Head of European Loans and Special Situations at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and before that held a similar role for Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette/Credit Suisse, managing that firm's market-leading Distressed and Special Situations business in Europe.

He is supported by Sanjeev Sarkar and Andrey Panna, both Managing Directors who co-founded the Tenax Credit Opportunities Fund alongside Guy. Sarkar and Panna both have over 15 years of experience in opportunistic credit investing, and the team completed over 30 opportunistic commitments while at Tenax. Sarkar and Panna will focus on sourcing and analyzing special situations and distressed debt.

Paragraph before: "The significant, ongoing changes in the provision of capital to small and mid-sized businesses, the financing of non-standard assets, and the redirection of financing from European Banks have created a significant opportunity for Crestline," says Guy. "Crestline's European team has deep experience, a broad set of relationships, and a long track record of generating attractive investment returns with a consistent focus on the preservation of capital."
