BNY Mellon’s Pershing adds AltX hedge fund intelligence platform to Alternative Investment Center

Pershing has added the hedge fund intelligence platform, AltX, to its Alternative Investment Center,  which is accessible through NetX360 and provides advisors access to educational resources, research and tools to help inform their alternative investment strategies.

The addition of AltX will help advisors evaluate hedge fund investment opportunities by providing them access to hedge fund market data, insights and analytics.

As part of the Pershing and AltX relationship, AltX analyses over 300 private funds across 26 metrics such as strategy, assets under management (AUM), historical returns, and additional subscription, redemption and regulatory information and provides the integrated data directly into NetX360. The platform also delivers daily hedge fund-related news and printable fund reports to clients.

"We've seen continued demand from advisors serving high-net-worth investors to access hedge funds, with hedge fund and fund of fund assets making up over a quarter of the alternative investment assets on Pershing's platform," says Justin Fay, Pershing's director of Financial Solutions, Alternative Investments and ETFs. "We added AltX to address this demand and help serve our clients more effectively by providing them with the tools and education they need to make well informed decisions as they explore hedge fund opportunities for their suitable clients."

AltX's addition to the Alternative Investment Center complements research already available on the platform from Morningstar and Blue Vault Partners and other educational resources such as comparison and screening tools, whitepapers and commentary from leading alternative investment managers.

The Alternative Investment Center currently has over 38,000 entitled users in NetX360 across more than 230 broker-dealers and over 500 registered investment advisors, providing custody support for over 2000 Alternative Investments.

Pershing's presence in the alternative space also extends to its prime brokerage business. Over the past several years, Pershing Prime Services has been active in providing traditional hedge funds and alternative '40 Act funds with solutions to manage their businesses and implement their portfolio strategies.
